Direct Repair
Direct repair insurance programs are great options for your car's coverage. Typically, when an accident occurs, there will inevitably be damage to your car that needs to be repaired. If you have insurance, after the claim is submitted, many companies give you a few car repair shops to select from. They will be local and usually offer lifetime warranties on the repairs and their parts they use.
The difference between direct repair and the normal flow of insurance claims is the time delays. When you get into an accident, even if you drop off your car at a body shop on the day of the accident, the mechanic cannot start working on the car until an insurance adjuster comes to look at the car. They will look at the estimate of damages and adjust accordingly. With a direct repair program, this is not needed.
If a mechanic is looking at your car and finds something that went unseen when the adjuster was first there, the adjuster will not have to go back down to approve the new part. This means that you will avoid time delays, and this is a big advantage as to why people use a direct repair program.
Often times with this program, car rentals are normally covered and allow you to have a car while your car is in the shop. The insurance companies allow you to use these programs to help you have a better experience if you get into an accident.
Also with Direct Repairs shops they are also Directly Paid by the Insurance company meaning no unnecessary money out of your pocket.
Below is a list of companies in which we participate in their Direct Repair program.

Repair Steps
Step 1: Estimate In the estimate process is inspected and entered into the estimate computer system. This data is compiled into an estimate. However, there maybe some hidden damages unseen until after the car is disassembled.
Step 2: Insurance Approval The insurance company will review the estimate or might come out to look at the vehicle and have there own adjuster take a look at the vehicle. There maybe some price negotiations on the price and procedures required to repair the vehicle. This also is where the insurance company determines if the vehicle is repairable.
Step 3: Order Parts The required part for your vehicle is ordered. If the part needs to be special ordered it will arrive as soon as possible. Although most of the parts might arrive quickly the repair process might have to wait until the inner structure parts arrive.
Step 4: Disassemble This is where the hidden damages are often found, and the inner structure damage is assessed and a supplement is written, often time needing approval from the insurance company.
Step 5: Structural Repair In the structural repair process the vehicle's frame or unibody are returned back to factory specification. A laser measuring system is used to analyze the frame of your vehicle. This system assures the accuracies of the repairs.
Step 6: Body Repair The body repair phase replaces exterior panels and repairs and salvageable panels. In this phase the vehicle starts to come back to life.
Step 7: Paint Paint preparation is very critical in the repair process of your vehicle. All panel are prepped for paint, then primed and sealed to assure good adhesion when the final color and clear coats are applied.
Step 8: Reassemble/Alignment Final moldings and detail pieces are installed. All vehicles' systems are checked during this process. Alignments are done after vehicle is reassembled if stated to be done from the insurance company.
Step 9: Detailing During the repair process the vehicle accumulates dust from the repairs. The vehicle is vacuumed and washed. A final inspection is done assuring that the vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition.
Step 10: Completion Delivery is the last step of the repair process. When the customer arrives to pick up the vehicle, the bill is explained and the final paper work is completed. The customer drives away in the vehicle that has been restored to its pre-accident condition.
